Condition:
Scarce IJA badge with the imperial crest of a stylized mum. With its original balsa case. This badge was awarded to the Army officers who participated in the Kyushu Area Large Scale Military Manuevers SPECIAL exercise from 9th to 12th November 1935 in South West Kyushu. These exercises were labelled special because they were reviewed by the Emperor himself. And that is why the badge carries the imperial mum. It has the flags of the Army and Navy since the maneuvers in Kyushu were joint exercises between the two branches of the Imperial Military forces.
