NEW WORLD'S RECORD SET ON
DUNLOP TIRES
193.72 MPH!
L. to R. Johnny Allen, Driver; Jack Wilson, Mechanic; Stormy Mangham, Body Designer
A new world’s record of 193.72 MPH was set on
September 25th by a Triumph Thunderbird ridden by
Johnny Allen. In speed runs like this, tire safety and
performance are all important — that’s why Johnny Allen
selected Dunlop Tires. For Dunlop Tires are famous the
world over for reliability and safety at all speeds.
No matter whether you race or tour on your motor-
cycle, the next time you need tires, follow the lead of
motorcycle manufacturers and top riders alike. Insist on
Dunlop Tires. Dunlop Tire & Rubber Corporation,
Founders of the Pneumatic Tire Industry, Factory and
Executive Offices, Buffalo 5, New York.
The same day that Allen rode the Triumph Thunderbird
to a new Class A record, he drove a standard Triumph 500
CC Tiger 100 to a new American Class C record of
123.95 MPH. This record was also made on Dunlop Tires.
L. to R. Johnny Allen and Pete Colman, Tuner.
