    Swinging Arm Rear Suspension
    Featured on all Vertical Twins
    SWINGING arm rear suspension on
    the entire vertical twin range is the
    big news in the 1955 Triumph produc-
    tion program. Other highlights include
    further advances on the high perform-
    ance Super Sports T-110, a sparkling
    new Trophy Scrambler with swinging
    arm rear suspension and improvements
    to and simplification of electrical sets—
    as well as detail refinements thruout
    the entire range. Those are the high-
    lights and here is the complete data:
    SUPER SPORTS TIGER 110
    Triumph’s most powerful and fast-
    est road machine for the enthusiast and
    sportsman is further enhanced for
    1955. New improvements include: new
    longer torque arm and strengthened
    anchorage for rear brake; strengthened
    kickstarter mechanism of chrome
    nickel steel; stiffened front fork; new
    forged “roll up” center stand and side
    stand; large two-level twinseat; new
    features in lubrication system plus
    New Triumph Trophy features swinging arm rear
    suspension, 8 to 1 compression, etc.
    many other detailed improvements.
    The Super Sports T-110 incorporates
    heavy crankshaft and main bearings;
    large inlet valves; l¥s" Amal carbure-
    tor with large float bowl and dual gaso-
    line lines; high performance “sports
    acceleration” cams; high compression
    SVz to 1 pistons developing 43 hp with
    standard mufflers (considerably more
    with tuning and exhaust modifications;
    Triumph swinging arm frame; hy-
    draulically controlled front and rear
    springing; D. C. dynamo lighting set;
    automatically controlled magneto ig-
    nition; large eight inch front brake
    with streamlined aluminum air ventil-
    ation scoops; folding footrests; val-
    anced rear fender; high U. S. pattern
    handlebars (not shown in illustration);
    3-1/3 gallon sports gas tank. Full rac-
    ing parts are available.
    The T-110 is finished in Triumph
    “shell blue sheen” (on tank and fend-
    ers) and with black frame, streamlined
    instrument nacelle, etc. Price of S908
    includes Federal Excise Tax.
    THUNDERBIRD 6T/SA
    A completely new model of the fam-
    ous Thunderbird is now introduced.
    This is Triumph’s full-powered ideal for
    the U. S. road rider. This new Thunder-
    bird is now equipped with the proven
    swinging arm rear suspension, with
    three - position adjustable hydraulic
    shock absorbers. An improved and sim-
    plified A. C. lighting-ignition set is also
    employed, as well as automatic igni-
    tion control. Frame and fork features
    are the same as on the T-110. A fold-
    ing kickstarter is used with the
    strengthened kickstarter mechanism.
    The Triumph Swinging Arm Frame now incorpor-
    ated on all of the Triumph Twins for '55.
    Lower end engine specifications are
    also similar to the T-110, with the silent
    ramp type camshaft (E3275) being
    used. Fuel is fed thru a 1-1/16" Amal
    carburetor. The standard 7 to 1 com-
    pression pistons deliver 34 hp with the
    streamlined mufflers. As on the T-110,
    the Thunderbird also features the new
    oil tank that also incorporates the air
    cleaner, tool box and battery box in
    one compact neat looking unit. Gas
    tank capacity is 4% gallons. Twinseat
    and folding foot rests are also featured.

    the new frame, twinseat, A.C. lighting, etc...
