    sional rider. Dick hails from
    San Pablo, Califs and is
    sponsored by J. K. Cycle Inn,
    Richmond, Calif.
    Blond Skip Van Leeuwen, known as the
    Flying Dutchman, took top honors as
    the nation’s highest-scoring professiona
    rider in the professional-amateur
    category. Van Leeuwen rides a
    Triumph Bonneville in T.T.
    competition.
    Edward Clifford amassed a startling
    total of 296 points, 93 points more
    than the nearest competition, to win
    top spot for '61 in short-track racing.
    Clifford rides a Tiger Cub and is
    sponsored by Gus Hertting of
    Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

    Ronnie Nelson, of Antelope Valley,
    Calif., was nation’s highest scorer in
    novice flat-track competition for ’61.
    Nelson, famous for his Triumph T100 •;
    riding for Bill Love of Palmdale,
    Calif., also rides a Triumph 720/S
    for Bellflower Cycle Shop.

    Don Burnett, on Triumph Trophy,
    sets new record in sensational win
    America's biggest national event in motorcycling, the
    Daytona 200 mile National Championship,was won by
    Don Burnett. Don came from behind in this hotly
    contested race, not only to win but to set a new record.
    This great victory emphasizes the top performance
    and great reliability of the Triumph 500 c.c. motorcycles.
