The Triumph 65O’s
A breed apart.
The pacesetters. Conceived in a tra-
dition of quality, bred for achieve-
ment. Three high performance 650’s
that can give you the edge at the track
.. .on or off the road.
Leading the field is the Bonneville,
probably the best machine in its class
anywhere. This is the one, in modified
form, that holds the world’s land speed
record of 245.667 mph.
Powered by a 40 cu. in. OHV verti-
cal twin, the Bonneville is capable of
developing 52 BHP at 6500 rpm.Twin
30mm Amal concentric carburetors
assure reliable fuel flow under the
most trying conditions. Improved kick-
start lever for easy engine turnover.
Four well-chosen gear ratios for extra
smoothness (wide and close ratios
available as optional extras). Newly de-
veloped twin downswept exhaust with
sports type mufflers and exhaust
header coupling pipe for quieter oper-
ation. Improved ruggedized single
down-tube frame for strength plus
lightness. A proven performer with
vastly improved performance.
Feisty brother to the Bonneville is
the Trophy 650, the pacesetter that
has made off-the-road winning a
Triumph specialty.
Boasting the same power plant as
the Bonneville, the Trophy comes
equipped with a heavy-duty skid plate,
hydraulic front forks with internal
damping design, adjustable Girling
rear suspension, quick detach rear
wheel, high gear ratio and a new up-
swept dual exhaust that makes the
Trophy look like it’s zooming even
when it’s standing still.
Rounding out the trio is the Tiger
650, the big pacesetting tourer that
eats up the road instead of the rider.
A single carb version of the same
four stroke, twin 650 engine for easy
maintenance and smooth perform-
ance. All of the race proven features
of the Bonneville including eight-inch
twin leading shoe front brake with air
scoop, rubber mounted and illumi-
nated tachometer and speedometer,
voltage regulating zener diode in
finned heat sink, adjustable twinseat
and reinforced chrome handrail. Add
an extra large 3^2 gallon gas tank and
you have the bike that can outdistance
the rest, all day and all night, too.
When you consider the outstanding
performance, rugged reliability and
clean-lined beauty bred into every
Triumph650,you’ll know whyTriumph
is a breed apart.
