The discovery of the most precious and most fascinating substance on earth, which has upset the established faith of philosophers and has become medicine's first friend in it battle with the most feared of all diseases was due to the partnership of a physicist, Pierre Curie, and of a chemist his wife Marie.
Vintage Petrolager SPY VANITY FAIR PRINT in original mat. This is a Vanity Fair reproduction print of lithograph that appeared in the magazine in the late 1800's. It was reproduced in the 1930's by Petrolager Laboratories and has an inscription on the mat which says "This Caricature first appeared in 19th Century. It is reproduced and presented with the compliments of Petrolager Industries, Inc". These were given to physicians to decorate their offices and waiting rooms.
This print 9 1/4" x 6", the mat measures 14 /2" x 11".
This matted print is in very good condition without any. Unframed.  The artist is JMP. Please see photos.
