ART DECO Sterling+Channel Set Black &White Crystal Bracelet~1920s Vintage Bangle
With alternating rows of darkly sparkly square Black crystals contrasted with Clear White ones, channel-set in sterling silver with elaborate engraving on the sides, this circa 1920s - 30s Art Deco bracelet is elegant and sophisticated.  Bracelets like this in black or black and white are not as commonly found as some of the other colors and the combination is so versatile.  There are star burst patterns at the clasp and hinge and geometric patterns of interlocking figure 8's, suggesting infinity, engraved in the sides that frame the stones, giving the bracelet a finished look and the striking patterns have loads of movement encircling the wrist.
The bracelet measures about 3/16" wide with inside diameters of just over 2-3/8" by about 2" and an inside circumference of about 6-1/2".  The closure is a tight, well-working push-in clasp with a safety chain for added security.
The bracelet is signed "Sterling" on the back, preceded by letters or a mark I cannot make out.  (Eighth photo.)
There is one minuscule chip or flake on the edge of the clear stone adjacent to the clasp mechanism, visible only upon close examination and magnification.  The bracelet is in Very Good vintage condition with just surface dirt, light scratches and tarnish where it appears the rhodium finish has worn off, mostly on the back but also in places on the sides, and a little dimming of the clear crystals as expected due to age.  It has a nice vintage patina; cleaning and polishing are left to the buyer's discretion.  As usual, there are a few minuscule gaps between a couple stones, noted only upon close examination and mentioned only for completeness.  Basically, it could just use a good clean.  There are no flaws of consequence and this Art Deco bracelet is quite beautiful.
Though made of sterling and crystal, it looks like its fine jewelry counterparts in platinum with onyx and diamonds and comes from a time when great skill and care went into fashioning imitations of fine jewelry.  Important enough to wear on its own, it also looks fabulous in a stack.  (The last two photos are of the bracelet with others from this collection in different colors I am listing separately.  This listing is for the black and white one only.)  This stunning and versatile bangle bracelet looks sensational on and will go with everything.  Not too flashy to wear in the day time, it takes on a glamorous look at night.  Dynamite in black and white, this is a lovely Art Deco period sterling and crystal bracelet to add to your collection!
