Description
A lovely example of a key piece of history. Telegraphers are still using Morse Code in ship-to-shore communication at the old RCA building in Point Reyes Station, California. Amazingly enough, receivers could as easily identify an individual sender as we can by knowing the sound of someone's voice. Telegraphers were said to have a "fist": a personal pulse, like a signature, in keying dots and dashes. Receivers learned to recognize particular senders by their unique manner in keying. Some of the silver plating on the shaft has peeled, but otherwise, this item is in fine shape. Look carefully at the pictures and ask any questions you'd like. Sold as-is.
Shipping: buyer will pay ACTUAL shipping and insurance cost. I've overstated the weight so that the estimate you see will more accurately reflect the final tab with full insurance. I'll invoice for actual cost. If a buyer uses autopay and the actual price is higher than the estimate, I'll cover the difference. If lower, I'll refund any over-payment.
