    Description

Ellis Opera Company (founded by C. A. Ellis who also directed the shows presented in 'his' opera), Musical Director was Cleofonte Campanini (1860-1919) -- program libretto book for Bizet's CARMEN in the original French with a correct English Translation -- with opera singers Farrar, Stanley, Muratore, Whitehill, Destinn, Homer, Kingston, and Polese on the front cover -- date not found but must be around 1916 because there is an advertisement inside front cover of a song book 'Geradine Farrar's Favorite Songs' which was published in 1916.... a Great piece of ephemera from the annals of the opera houses --- Can't find too much about C.A. Ellis (more on Campanini) even though the New York Times featured him not so long ago.
