For the serious collector is this rare one of a kind Mikimoto heavy 14k solid gold multi pearl trophy medal horseshoe pendant with original ribbon necklace and gilt silver inscription bar. The gold display necklace seen in some pics is not included in the sale.The bar at the bottom of the ribbon necklace is inscribed 'Chrysanthemum Handicap Mikimoto Trophy Laurel Race Course,Nov. 1972'. The reverse side of the bar is stamped Tokyo, Japan K. Mikimoto with M in a clamshell maker's mark and S for sterling silver. The trophy medal horseshoe pendant is stamped K14 along with Miki clamshell maker's mark. The pendant measures 2 1/2" long x 2" wide x 3/16" thick and weighs 34.4 grams. There are a total of 54 genuine Mikimoto pearls ranging in size from 4mm-6mm. The horseshoe and ribbon come in the original Mikimoto box. Condition is excellent and I'm almost positive this rare one of a kind Mikimoto trophy has never been worn and rarely was ever out of the box. You'll never see another. The Chrysanthemum Handicap was a top level thoroughbred horse race for fillies and mares. It was run over a distance of ground on the Laurel turf course in Laurel, MD.
