Vintage Bunnell & Co. Telegraph Register - Fantastic Machine Records Messages

WOW!!!
This is a Burrnell Telegraph Register.  Once it is wound up with its key it will take incoming telegraph signals and record the message as a series of dots and dashes.   This unit does function but it needs a new ink pad.  Once it receives a signal it feeds a thin paper strip between a roller and an ink pad.  The message is then advanced through the device and can be torn off.
Wow!  This register has lots of adjustments.  Once everything is set just right it is automatic.  You might want to buy a telegraph key or
Omnigraph to see it in action.   It comes with a heavy wood protective box and a paper roll.    This would make a great gift for the engineer
in your life.
Update:  The first 2 photos show the paper tape in its proper position as it feeds through the machine.   The rod on the paper wheel has
been replaced.
