A One-of-a-Kind Journey
While this Art Deco bracelet is not marked, the design and style of construction reveals it was Czech made. Vibrant red glass cabochons were made to simulate coral and their molded design is sweet and detailed of a bird at rest amongst blooming foliage. The floral motif is repeated in the stamped brass setting and is given a touch of creamy color from faux pearls dotting the corners. This 1930's bracelet is eye-catching yet has a delicate silhouette, the links are fairly thin, with a modest weight and feel on your wrist.

On Figurals.
Figural jewelry includes any piece that has been shaped into an animal, person, object, or detailed “day in the life” scene. Antique and vintage figural jewelry is often quite charming and collectible for the realistic or cutesy details. Specific objects or animals became popular and prolific in jewelry during certain time periods, Scotty dogs during the 1940’s for example, or swallow birds during the Victorian era. Figural jewelry is special for its detail and realism but also tells the story of the decade they were made in.
On Czech Glass.
Czech or bohemian glass created from the end of the Victorian era through the mid-century was world-renowned for its unprecedented resemblance to natural gemstones. Skilled craftsman from the region engineered new methods of cutting and coloring glass to simulate the look of rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and more. In addition, Czech glass jewelry makers were highly trained in the metalwork for the settings around the glass. The Czech region produced so many different styles (all of superb quality) that Czech glass pieces have become their own collectable category.
