vtg HAND MADE 1940'S CLIP ON EARRINGS pearl coral jade?

these earrings were in my mothers collection
I never saw her wear earrings but she did collect
they look like from the 40's
they do have a patent # on the back but I can't find a brand name so they are prior to 1955, probably 1952. Interesting fact I looked up the patent and I believe it's for the clip part of the earring, appears to be part of a braking mechanism?
not sure about stones and pearls, and my jeweler can only guess
but since they are very old and in good condition, I assume they are semi precious
