    Description

You're bidding on an original 2600th Imperial Rule Anniversary medal. Please take care in examining the photos for the condition of this medal as it's the exact one you're bidding on. There is some age staining and fading to the front of the ribbon.
This medal was established to commemorate the 2600th year (1940) since the founding of the Japanese empire in 660 BC. The medal features the Imperial Chrysanthemum above the sacred double bridges leading to the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The reverse of the medal features Japanese characters that read "2600th Commemorative Anniversary Medal" with the characters below reading "Showa 15" (1940).
